SUPPORT LMBTQ+ Rights IN HUNGARY
By taking a gingerbread and donating what you can, you are supporting LGBTQI+ rights in Hungary through Háttér Society, one of the country’s most important independent LGBTQI+ civil organizations.
In recent years, state funding for civil organizations in Hungary has been drastically reduced, while discrimination, legal uncertainty, and social pressure affecting LGBTQI+ people have increased. Independent support has become more important than ever.
Your donation helps Háttér Society continue its core programs and everyday work, including:
Support & Mental Health
Maintaining the Háttér Information and Emotional Support Hotline, which provides confidential help to people facing life difficulties, identity-related stress, crisis situations, or isolation.
Legal Aid
Running a Legal Program that supports individuals who experience discrimination, harassment, or violence because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Education & Awareness
Organizing awareness-raising and capacity-building trainings for members of the LGBTQI+ community, as well as sensitization trainings for professionals who work with LGBTQI+ people, such as lawyers, teachers, police officers, and child protection specialists.
Archive & Knowledge
Developing and maintaining the Háttér Archive and Library, Hungary’s largest collection of LGBTQI+-related literature, academic materials, press archives, posters, small publications, and films.
Health & Prevention
Supporting HIV-related information and counseling services, and making affordable prevention tools available through condom distribution programs, helping both people living with HIV and those seeking reliable information and support.
